Collaboration - Yammer
Setting up Yammer with Kazoo
Requirements
- Kazoo subdomain
- Microsoft Office 365 account
- Service user with a general company email address (non-user specific)
- Pre-defined group within Yammer for recognition posts to display
- User with administrative access to both Kazoo and Yammer
The Yammer integration will require a company email address for setup. This email address will be used to display the recognition posts sent within the platform. We advise using a service account so that recognitions don’t come from any specific Admin’s email. To avoid confusion we also suggest naming the account something related to recognition or using the subdomain name chosen while creating the account with your launch representative.
Step 1
-
Contact your Customer Support representative to request that they enable the Yammer integration on your subdomain.
-
Login to Kazoo and create a user using the same email address used for the service account you will be using in step 2.
-
Navigate to Admin menu > Ingetrations > Yammer
- Page should refresh and look like this:
- Once there, click the “Setup Yammer” button to be sent to the Yammer login page.
- Note: Must log in as an administrative user to complete the remaining steps properly
Step 2
- Create a service account with a dedicated email address
- Per the note above, please make sure that this service account is easily recognizable.
- Create a new group in Yammer, dedicated for recognition.
- If you are unsure how to set up a group, please see the Create a group in Yammer guide on the Microsoft troubleshooting page
Step 3
- Log out of the administrator account and log into the newly created recognition-specific account within Yammer.
- Use the same email to authenticate within YEI.
- Specify the group name in the platform.
- Click Save
We highly recommend testing with a recognition post to confirm that the accounts are connected properly.
Additional info:
- If an issue arises or an error occurs, an alert message will show up under Admin > Integrations > Yammer
- Only public recognition posts will show up on the Yammer feed. Private posts will be filtered out.
- If a link in Yammer is clicked, it will take the user to the post in the platform.
- Recognition shows up in the pre-determined Group chosen in Step 2.
